Leadership Continuity & Service Support
Steps in to serve as Chairperson when the District Chair is unavailable
Takes roll call during District 8 business meetings if the Registrar is absent
Maintains communication through the Alternate Chair email
Quarterly Coordination & Area Participation
Acts as Quarterly Coordinator when District 8 is awarded a Quarterly bid
Reviews Area 15 Planning Workshop materials to prepare for event implementation
Attends Area 15 Chairpersons and Quarterly Coordinators meetings
District Events & Annual Planning
Presents a motion for a new annual budget to support the Founder’s Day Dinner and Delegate’s Report
Coordinates planning and execution of the Founder’s Day Dinner and Delegate’s Report each February
GSR Orientation & Group Support
Facilitates GSR Orientation at District 8 business meetings (15 minutes per meeting)
Explains the GSR Welcome Packet
Helps new GSRs understand their service role
Guides them through District 8 processes and expectations
Orientation expenses are included in the Alternate Chair’s annual budget
Budget & Financial Planning
- Submits a yearly budget request to the Treasurer every October for the Alternate Chair position
Qualifications to become an Alternate District Chairperson
- 5 years of sobriety
- 4 years of service in District 8
- 1 year as a DCM in District 8
