Meeting Documentation
Records all actions taken at District 8 business meetings, including motions (verbatim), election results, and other business outcomes
Includes supporting documents in the minutes, such as committee reports, financials, district map, and flyers
Compiles the District 8 business meeting minutes and agenda for review and approval by the Chairperson
Furnishes the final business meeting agenda to the Chairperson after the close of motions
Communication & Distribution
Emails the finalized minutes and other communications to the District 8 Chairperson for distribution to members
Provides printed copies of the Quarterly flyer, meeting agenda, and additional District 8 materials at business meetings
Supplies extra copies of District 8 minutes for new GSRs
Shares copies of any correspondence deemed necessary by the Chair at District meetings
Area Participation
Attends all Area 15 Quarterlies
Participates in the Area Secretary meeting and reports back to District 8
Trusted Servant Support
Serves as an ex-officio member of the Current Practices Committee
Takes roll call at the Area 15 Quarterly Business Meeting if the Registrar is absent
Monitors the Secretary email account and responds as needed
Administrative & Budget Duties
- Submits a proposed budget each October to the Treasurer for the upcoming fiscal year
Qualifications to become a District Recording Secretary
- 5 years of sobriety
- 3 years of service in District 8
- 1 year as a DCM in District 8
